Meet Michelle

Brand Builder, Confidence Crusader & Change Agent
Helping marginalized communities build socially conscious brands

I'm Michelle...

I teach marginalized communities how to use their lived experiences as ‘superpowers’ so that they can create a brand that advocates for change. My calling is to help inspire, empower and build confidence in tomorrow’s radical visionaries so that they can augment their voice and build human first businesses.
I created this busines as a safe space for marginalized womEn and non-binary persons to learn, build, network and feel empowered to connect with other like minded folx who feel the same way.

I can’t wait to meet you!

How did I get here?

Why try to fit in when you were born to stand out?
Who knew that as I approached midlife I would be reinventing myself, learning another language, bearing my first child and starting my entrepreneurial journey.

There’s something to be said about leaving a life behind that no longer serves you. Almost ten years ago my life looked very different. I was a suburban stepmom living in a big house, driving a fancy car, suffocating in high paying jobs and drowning in a toxic relationship. All of that felt too comfortable to escape and from the outside it looked like I had it all. The real truth was that I was living a lie and it was hard to stop the moving train. Until one day, my comfortable life fell apart and I was forced to find my own way. Fast forward almost 10 years I am creating a dream life that I never knew was even possible. I live in a smaller home and drive less expensive car. I’m now raising my own child and celebrating new relationships. I’m building my own business and becoming the best, most authentic version of myself. Today, I’m a proud queer parent championing for diversity, inclusion and equity and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I could never have written this story in a thousand years and my journey is just getting started.

I want you to know that dreams, just like businesses don’t necessarily manifest how and when you think they will. Most times it takes falling down 20 times before you can even get back up again and sometimes you need a helping hand. Over the last decade I’ve had the pleasure of helping others bring their vision to reality and create the business of their dreams.

So, what if you…
Started to focus on your dreams and prioritized your happiness
Stopped worrying about the judgement of others started living authentically
Let go of the fear of failure and began to realize your worth
Believed in yourself and recognize that imperfection is perfection
Trusted in yourself, your vision and the process enough to know that building a dream is a journey and not a destination.
It’s time to stop dreaming and start doing so you can live the life you were born to live.

No successful person is more special, important or smarter than you are. They just decided to go for it. Just like me and so can you. Now let’s get started!

5 Statements that Changed My Life

Do things other people don’t want to do even if you don’t want to do them either.
If you don’t build your own dreams, someone else will hire you to build theirs.
When people show you who they are believe them.
You could be the sweetest, yummiest, juiciest peach and there will still be someone who doesn’t like peaches.
Pleasing everybody is an impossible task so you might as well be 100% authentically yourself.

Project Femme Noire

Project Femme Noire

Project Femme Noire (pfn) is a platform that showcases and celebrates womEn of colour who live in the province of Québec.

The project aims to bring attention to these women and their interconnecting stories of overcoming societal barriers, resiliency and strength

‘La résilience des femmes noires’ was a photo series created for Black Herstory Month 2020 that showcased women of colour living in Québec. The women in this series came from all walks of life and the goal was to capture the essence of their life stories through their photos. The black themed ‘dress’ represented community and sisterhood. Head wraps represented their uniqueness and individuality. Red lips represent(ed) voices that need to be heard, bold and unapologetically.
